Erik Solheim, Advisor

Following an extensive career focusing on environment and development in government and international organizations, Erik Solheim was Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme between May 2016 and November 2018.
Prior to joining UN Environment, Solheim was the chair of the Development Assistance Committee of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. In this capacity, Solheim emphasized the role of private sector and tax in development finance, spearheading the Sustainable Development Investment Partnership and the Addis Tax Initiative. Solheim also focused on the need to channel more aid to least-developed countries, and bring new members and partners to the Development Assistance Committee.

From 2007 to 2012, Solheim held the combined portfolio of Norway’s Minister of the Environment and International Development, and from 2005 to 2007 served as Minister of International Development. This unique portfolio mixture allowed him to bring a coherent approach to development and the environment.

Dr. Shailesh Upreti, Advisor

Shailesh Upreti is an IIT Delhi Alumni and former team member of Professor Stan Whittingham, Nobel Laureate, the inventor of Li-ion battery. With 20+ years of experience in developing strategies to advance technologies, his scientific and entrepreneurial work has triggered and influenced many projects in academia as well as in industry. Dr. Upreti is well known in the industry for establishing and stabilizing an ex-Asia supply chain that includes 200+ global brands. Dr. Upreti is currently the CEO of C4V and Chairman of iM3NY, the largest home grown Gigafactory started initial production recently in North America. Dr. Upreti’s expertise lies in bridging the gap between meaningful findings from early stage development and commercialization. Dr. Upreti has received Entrepreneur of the Year award from the New York State Government for his leadership in establishing a Li-ion battery-manufacturing ecosystem . He also won a $500,000.00 cash prize in one of the largest clean tech business competitions, and also recognized as 50 most influential entrepreneurs in the Energy space.

Dr Rajesh Vasa, Advisor

Dr Rajesh Vasa is passionate about solving problems with high societal impact. He has built up his experience across a range of domains, team sizes, projects, and in different countries (US, China, Singapore, India and Australia). He has worked in a wide variety of technology roles -- Software Engineer, Business consultant, Solution architect, Manager, IT Director, and CTO.
Currently he leads translational research efforts at Applied Artificial Intelligence Institute. His Current/Recent work involves building intelligent homes, improving flow of traffic to alleviate congestion, governance/privacy preserving data analysis, predicting high risk & anomalous events in fast moving phenomenon, improving patient care in hospitals, rapid mobile application development using DSLs, collecting data using low-cost sensors (IoT) & mobile devices, detecting spam, large scale complex simulations, chat-bots, and analysing voice data streams.

Vinay Vyas - CEO, India

Vinay is a renowned expert in the field of green energy and sustainability. He holds two master's degrees that lend him comprehensive knowledge in both the economic and practical aspects of energy. His first degree is a Master of Engineering in 'PV Solar Energy' from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), and his second is a Master's in 'Energy Economics' from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
He has been at the forefront of renewable energy development globally. He has been actively involved in more than 7 GW of renewable energy projects spanning Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Australia, India, the Middle East, Africa, and the EU. These projects are diverse, covering various types of renewable energy such as green hydrogen/green ammonia, large-scale grid-tie, rooftop installations, standalone battery systems, micro-grids, battery storage systems, rural electrification, solar irrigation pumps, building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), and water channel tops.
Beyond project involvement, Vinay possesses a deep understanding of the renewable energy market, gained through his varied roles in the industry. He has experience in long-term Independent Power Production (IPP), short-term solar project development, as well as Global Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) roles.
Vinay has been recognized as one of the '40 Under 40' by EQ Magazine and has received the 'APP Scholarship' from UNSW. In terms of ground-breaking projects, he played a pivotal role in establishing India's second and Gujarat's first megawatt-scale solar project. He was also involved in one of India's inaugural microgrid projects, as well as the country's first green hydrogen and green ammonia initiative.
